Dear Patients,

As we prepare for reopening our office on June 1st for all treatments, I am sure there are a lot of questions that you may have about the changes you will notice, and the safety precautions we are taking. Please take a moment to read the following letter and if you still have any questions at all, we are hear to answer them.

First, be aware that our office was already held to an extremely high standard of asepsis (cleanliness) by the government and Order of Dentists of Quebec. In fact, it can be considered a mini-hospital. With the new measures put in place for Covid, some of the changes you may notice are:

  • We will ask you to use hand sanitizer upon entry into the clinic. Our receptionist may take your temperature (non-touch thermometer) and ask you some questions. If you have any symptoms consistent with Covid-19, we will reschedule your appointment. If you want a face mask, we can provide one.
  • We ask that as best as possible you come to the office alone, and not linger in the waiting room before or after your appointment to respect social distancing measures.
  • We have installed medical grade air purifiers throughout the office which help filter out harmful particles from the air, even as small as air droplets containing virus particles.
  • The hygienists, assistants and dentists will be wearing more protective gear including masks, visors, and full-length gowns. These are changed between each patient.
  • The rooms are sterilized as before, using products that have been proven to destroy viruses, including Coronavirus.
  • All staff has received refresher training on infection control and asepsis

Secondly, because of the two months where we were not seeing patients, we have a large backlog of people who need work done. This may mean that for the first few months, Dr. Seminara, Dr. Kennedy and Dr. Nguyen will be sharing the work to be sure everyone is seen in a timely manner. You may be scheduled to see a dentist or hygienist other than your usual one, but if you prefer to remain as before, just call the office and the receptionist will accommodate you.

Finally, your safety and ours is paramount. We take it very seriously and there are no compromises. You can be assured that we are doing the very best, and following all the latest recommendations, to ensure a secure and healthy environment.

All the best,

Downtown Montreal Dentistry
